Hannah Gibson is an internationally renowned glass artist; and geologist, based near London.

Capturing the nostalgic imagery of childhood, exposing hidden narratives, through cast sculptural glass stands at the core of her work.

Studying for a Masters in Glass, at the University for The Creative Arts, Hannah began working on her current body of work, Recycling Narratives, Whispering Sweet Nothings.

Returning as Artist in Residence.

Hannah’s practice sits at the intersection between art and science. The focus of her research is on materiality, constantly pushing the boundaries of glass. Often casting with increasingly challenging types of recycled glass such as car windscreens, Covid 19 vaccination vials and television screens.

This current body of work, created for Habatat Detroit Fine Art is an explosion of colour.  Button To Button a homage to the amazing musical influences that have emerged from Detroit.  Over The Rainbow, bursting with colour, inviting the viewer to look closer at the vibrant patterns.

Hannah’s work has been collected and widely exhibited internationally including COLLECT, SOFA Chicago, The British Glass Biennale, The Coburg Prize for Contemporary Glass, The Imagine Museum and The National Liberty Museum.

Currently exhibiting at Fired Up: Glass Today at The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

Sweet Nothings are a series of cast glass figures whispering Sweet Nothings to one another inviting the viewer to question what are they whispering, and why?
