As a printmaker and sculptor, I began working in glass in 2003. Being trained in the art academies, I was never introduced to glass as a medium. I was educated to question why use a certain material and how is it related to the concept behind the work.

After graduating from Cranbrook Academy of Art with an MFA in printmaking, I discovered glass when I moved to Washington, DC. I was hired as a gallery manager a wonderful glass gallery in Bethesda, MD, named the Glass Gallery. The owners, Ned and Sally Hansen, encouraged my growth, education, and experimentation in glass.

The direction of the glass world is exciting and constantly evolving. It is becoming more inclusive of all peoples, conceptual approaches, and glass is a material. This direction encourages self-expression and exploration.
